Our second Bump-Off Mogul Competition took place on April 26, and you might have noticed we changed things up a bit this year. We switched locations from Sunshine Bowl to the bottom of Main Street, providing a much better venue for viewing the event, and our slope maintenance team built the bumps from scratch this time around. Using cats and other equipment, our crew laid out a beautiful checkerboard of snowy mounds, offering lots of possibilities for creative skiers and riders. Open to all, the course saw everyone from bump specialists to families to side-by-side competitors testing their skills or just having fun.
The following day we celebrated Pride by providing free laps on our NASTAR course which was decorated with Pride flags. Solitude supports the LGBTQ+ community, welcoming LGBTQ+ skiers and riders to our mountain and supporting our LGBTQ+ employees.
We look forward to continuing to grow and improve both our mogul and Pride events!
Closing Day is just around the corner. Join us on May 12 for a final day of skiing and riding. Mommas get treated extra special with free chocolates and flowers on Mother’s Day. It’s going to be a fun last day on the hill with festivities taking place in the base areas and on the mountain. Fingers crossed for sunny spring weather that will bring out the shorts and short sleeves.
Summer at Solitude
Once winter season is over, the mountain gets a small break before summer season kicks off on June 13. Starting that day, Solitude will be open for scenic lift rides, disc golf, hiking, mountain biking, and other activities. Come and experience the Solitude Bike Park with trails designed by Gravity Logic. Zoom your way down Cobalt Cruise or test your tech skills on Holy Schist — we’ve got something for everyone. The park will be open Thursday through Sunday until June 27 and then switch to daily operations moving forward.
New this year, Solitude Bike Park trails and lifts will remain open until 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays.
Mark your calendar for June 16. Solitude will once again host the Big Cottonwood Brew Fest. Celebrate dad on Father’s Day and segue into summer with food, drink, and live music!
In the meantime, we have a couple more weeks of skiing and riding in store for you. Five of our eight lifts are still spinning, providing access to over 35 trails. And our Magic Carpet is still open for beginner skiers and riders looking to gain some footing for next winter. Check the mountain conditions section of our website or app to see what’s open, what’s groomed.
