April is off the hook at Solitude! Late season-storms have blessed with excellent spring conditions and our events calendar is in full effect.

Military to the Mountain

High Fives Foundation returned to Solitude last week. High Fives is a nonprofit organization that supports veterans and first responders who have suffered life-changing injuries. This is the second season we have hosted High Five’s Military to the Mountain program, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

Military to the Mountain uses skiing and snowboarding to help heal our nation’s wounded warriors. Many participants in the one-week camp have never skied or snowboarded before. Others are skiers and riders returning to the mountains after being hurt in the line of duty.

Solitude supports the program with lifts, facilities, and equipment. We also provide support through our Military Season Pass — a discounted pass product offered to active and retired military, veterans, and spouses. All proceeds from Military Season Pass sales are used to help fund the program.

Pond Skim Beach Party

One of Solitude’s signature spring events, the Pond Skim Beach Party returned on April 12 to loud cheers and giant splashes. Over 100 costumed participants attempted to cross the 80-foot-long water obstacle our team constructed. The kicker this year had extra kick, resulting in giant airs and spectacular water landings.

A special shout out goes to this year’s winners: Matt Gagnon (Best Skim); Chris Shapard (Best Costume); and Ben Fuchs (Best Crash).

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend is just around the corner (April 19 – 20), and we have a full slate of fun in store for you.

Join us Saturday for our annual Earth Day celebration, featuring naturalist-led mountain tours, plus activities and vendors outside of Last Chance Lodge. Followed immediately by the Last Chance Beach Bash.

Saturday is also the final installment of the Soli Parks Steel Showdown, our popular rail jam series. Show off your skills in the popup park outside of Last Chance Lodge or watch the action from the lodge patio.

And Easter Sunday is going to be a blast with easter egg hunts taking place in not one, not two, but three locations at the resort. Arrive early to search for eggs containing fun Solitude prizes. Afterwards, shred the slopes with the Easter Bunny.

Late Season Lifts & Terrain

As spring melting reaches the point of no return, Solitude begins paring back lift and terrain.

Summit Express, Sunrise, and Honeycomb Return will close for the season after daily operations on Sunday, April 21. This is the last week of the season to ride Rollercoaster, cruise Woodlawn, and savor high alpine views from Summit.

All other chairs remain open until closing day, May 11. Enjoy great terrain off Eagle Express, Powderhorn, Moonbeam Express, Apex Express, and Link.
