Join Solitude President & COO Amber Broadaway at the top of Sunshine Bowl as we look ahead to spring skiing. Sunshine Bowl is one of our widest runs, visible even from the other side of Big Cottonwood Canyon. It is a broad, generous groomer with moguls on the side for people who want a challenge. With March just around the corner, we are looking forward to warmer temps, longer days, and abundant corn snow.

We are still in Free Fare February! That means Utah Transit Authority services — including UTA Ski Bus route 972 to Solitude — are free to all. Solitude supports Free Fare February with a contribution of more than $110,000. We encourage all guests to ride the bus and carpool to reduce environmental impact and traffic in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

For afternoon skiers who choose to drive, we are offering free parking after 12:30 p.m. this Monday through Thursday. That’s February 14-17, 2022, free parking for cars arriving after 12:30 p.m.

Get ready for Presidents Day with a Magic Show & Torchlight Parade at Last Chance Lodge on Saturday, February 19. We will be celebrating with 8:00 a.m. lift openings all week — from February 19 through 27.

Other weekly Saturday highlights are Ski with a Ranger at 1:00 p.m. and Argen-Trivia in Moonbeam Lodge at 4:30 p.m. Argen-Trivia is open to all ages, so bring the whole crew to enjoy après snacks and astounding facts.

Roundhouse, our day lodge located mid-mountain, is home to a delicious Himalayan-inspired menu. Think curry with rice and naan, lentils, and other non-meat proteins. They offer plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The curry fries are a locals’ favorite, and of course there’s a great cheeseburger or chicken pot pie for the traditionalists.

Upstairs at Roundhouse, pull up a chair to the 360° fireplace. Or choose a window view seat in the spacious dining room. There’s not a bad table in the house! New this year, the upstairs bar at Roundhouse serves local draft and canned beer as well as snacks.
