Solitude Nordic & Snowshoe Center is a hidden gem. Situated at a higher elevation than other Nordic centers in the area, it enjoys a long season with abundant snow. Join Solitude President & COO Amber Broadaway to learn about the Nordic Center. It offers 15 km of trails groomed for classic and skate-style skiing. There are another 10 km of dedicated snowshoe trails. You can rent gear for kids and adults, or join a clinic to elevate your skills.
The Nordic Center is located at Silver Lake off the Brighton Loop, just up the road from Solitude Village. A complex of trails for all abilities connects Solitude Village with the Nordic Center. A trail pass or season pass is required to access these trails. Parking is free for guests of the Nordic Center — or you can get there via the UTA Ski Bus from our Moonbeam base area. Rides from Moonbeam to the Nordic Center are free. If you choose to bus, try renting Nordic gear and skiing back down. You can return Nordic rentals to the Powderhorn rental shop in Solitude Village.
Equipment for all ages and skills is available to rent. They have snowshoes for adults and children. They also offer both classic and skate-style skis for adults and children as young as three years. For very small children, you can rent a chariot to pull behind as you ski the trails.
Clinics are available for kids and adults, including classic, intermediate skate, and women’s-only. Private lessons are also available. They are a great option for adults or kids who want to get up to speed or super-charge their Nordic skills.
