Winter finally showed up! And with New Year’s Eve right around the corner, we are glad to have her company.

Winter took her sweet time arriving this season, but when she finally appeared, she delivered the goods. Recent storms have delivered more than 30 inches of new snow over the last week, improving our coverage and allowing us to open additional terrain. Temperatures have also dropped, letting us activate our snow guns once again. And the long-term weather forecast is looking good.

New Year’s Eve Events at Solitude

Solitude always throws down for New Year’s Eve, and this year will be no exception.  Here are some of the fun activities we’ll be offering on December 31:

The #SoliParks Parks Steel Showdown
Show off your skills on rails and other features (or just enjoy the show) outside of Last Chance Lodge. This event is free to enter, and we have amazing swag for participants.

New Year’s Eve Dining
Enjoy alpine-inspired après or a special New Year’s Eve dinner at St. B’s. Or make reservations at Honeycomb Grill and enjoy delicious fare from our wood-fired oven. We’ll also have a lasagna dinner and magic show in Last Chance Lodge. Kids love the magic show — and you will too!

Avalanche Dog Demonstration
Hang with Solitude ski patrol and see our avalanche dogs in action.

New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Show
Watch our staff ski down the mountain as a synchronized, torch-lit team. Once they reach the bottom of the mountain, the fireworks show begins.

Karaoke at the Thirsty Squirrel
After the torchlight parade, this is where the action goes.

New Bling for Your Boards

Here’s a fun way to celebrate the new year… Our marketing team has created some cool stickers to mark how many days you’ve been on the hill this winter. Earn stickers for 10 days, 20 days, and 40 days. Log 100 days on the slopes and you get a special pin.

Visit the ticket office to get your days validated and pick up your bling.

In addition to stickers and pins, guests who clock 20 days or more on the slopes will be invited to an exclusive VIP party on closing weekend. More details to come.

Happy 2025 from Solitude

Thank you everyone who has been skiing and riding these last couple of months. Our season started on a different note than previous seasons but skiing and riding has still been fun. And recent storms have made Solitude look like Solitude again.

Have a happy and healthy new year! Talk to you again in 2025.
