The new Eagle Express 6-pack is officially open! After months and months of hard work by Highlander Ski Lift Construction and the entire Lift Ops crew at Solitude, it officially opened to the public on December 20!

The opening of the new Eagle Express 6-pack marks the completion of Solitude’s biggest capital investment in decades! We are super stoked to have it open and spinning daily as of December 20. Ski patrol worked their tails off to get the terrain ready for opening. As we get more terrain opened, remember that early season conditions exist, and snow is thin in some spots. Check our website for trail closures and openings, as terrain is changing daily. We are preparing for terrain openings all over the mountain as we anticipate storms and new snowfall.

Amber was joined on the ceremonial first chair by Casey Hall, the director of lift ops at Solitude, and Paul Johnstone from Highlander Construction. Both were instrumental in the construction of the new lift. Paul and his team also installed Summit Express in 2015. This team worked daily from when the old Eagle Express closed until the new lift opened.

Before we opened the new Eagle Express, we were able to get Summit Express open to the public! Early season challenges are still ahead of us with a lack of storms coming our way and mechanical issues. Our team has laid down a base, allowing us to open 50+ trails and 7 of 8 lifts.
