There’s always something happening at Solitude! Whether it’s large-scale, don’t-miss events like our Pond Skim Beach Party or cozy, weekly activities like live music and karaoke at the Thirsty Squirrel, you’ll find plenty to do both on and off the slopes.

We kicked off March by hosting the Wasatch Powderkeg again this year. For three days, the top skimo athletes in the country raced up and down the slopes of Solitude, competing on some of our steepest terrain. Among the races that took place were the 2024 USA Skimo Championship race and the North American Continental Championship. Some of the athletes that competed will be at the 2026 Winter Olympics where skimo is now an official event.

International Women’s Day is March 8, and The North Face will be here again for Ladies Laps w/The North Face. Celebrate women with a day on the slopes and free hot chocolate and movie screenings.

Daylight Savings Time is just around the corner, and we’re celebrating at Solitude. Celebrating you say? No one likes to lose an hour of sleep, but we love having longer days, letting us spin Link, Moonbeam Express, and Apex Express lifts until 5:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday. We’ll also be holding The Longest Day event on March 10 where we run those chairs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for one day only.

With longer days, we’ll also see the return of our Last Chance Beach Bash. Join us outside of Last Chance Lodge from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoons beginning March 16 for live music, food, and drink.

Once April rolls around and temperatures really start warming it’s time for our annual Pond Skim Beach Party. Watch flamboyantly costumed daredevils do their best to ski or ride across a four-foot deep, 50-foot-long pond of ice-cold water. Better yet, register as a contestant and try it yourself!

Got skills in the bumps? Show off your skills in Sunshine Bowl on April 27 by participating in our Bump-Off mogul competition. Or soak in the sun and cheer on the contestants from the patio of Roundhouse Lodge.

That’s just a handful of the events we have planned for you this spring. Check out our events calendar for complete details and additional activities. See you on the slopes!
