Snow is falling at Solitude! We’re expecting another great winter, with plenty of improvements both on and off the mountain. You’ve probably heard about our new six-pack chairlift, but we’ve made some noteworthy changes in Solitude Village as well. We’ve juggled the locations of some of our village facilities and made improvements all around.

The Village Store has changed location from The Inn at Solitude to the previous home of Canyon Fever. The larger store has more refrigerated space than the old location, allowing us to provide you with a greater selection of food and drinks, including grab-and-go options. Additional shelf space means more room for sundries, books, local Utah products, gift items, and more.

The Village Store is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or later, seven days a week, 365 days a year. As the only liquor store in Big Cottonwood Canyon, it’s a great resource for guests and owners alike.

Our Canyon Fever village store has now moved to the Creekside building, right next to Honeycomb Grill. The bigger footprint will allow us to stock more items, including skis, snowboards, goggles, helmets – and of course, our signature logo wear.

Right across the way, in the same location as last year, is our Powderhorn Adventure Center — your one-stop-shop for rental equipment, tune ups, and repairs. We have a new fleet of demo gear this year, with three lines to choose from. The Powderhorn Adventure Center now contains the village nordic kiosk where you can rent Nordic skis and snowshoes, book Nordic lessons, and drop off your gear at the end of the day.

Finally, we’ve completely revamped Honeycomb Grill with new furniture, light fixtures, brighter colors, and other renovations. Enjoy great views of the mountain from the classy bar in our comfortable rotunda. This winter, Honeycomb Grill will be open for both lunch and dinner, seven days a week. St. Bernard’s restaurant will also be open for dinner seven days a week. Guests will now have two exceptional dining options in the Village every day of the week.

Solitude will be open for skiing and riding soon – look for another Amber’s Update once the chairs start spinning!
