Happy August! While it’s hard to believe summer is already winding down, there’s still plenty of time to enjoy everything happening at Solitude. Thanks to a healthy monsoon season, Big Cottonwood Canyon is as green as it’s been in years, making it a great time to get outside before we start looking ahead to winter.

Fall Lift Hours

As we move into late summer, our lift operations will begin transitioning to our fall schedule. Through Sunday, August 17, the bike park and lifts will remain open daily. Beginning Monday, August 18, we’ll operate Thursday through Sunday, with Twilight Nights continuing on Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and regular operations Friday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. After Labor Day, we’ll transition to our fall schedule, operating Friday through Sunday through our planned closing day on October 4.

Ikon Pass Mountain Credits

If you’re an Ikon Pass holder who selected Mountain Credits as your renewal benefit, don’t forget to use them before they expire at the end of each month. Ikon Pass holders receive $25 in Mountain Credits each month, while Ikon Base Pass holders receive $10. Credits can be redeemed at most retail and food and beverage locations at Solitude through the Ikon Pass app.

Summer Events

Our summer events calendar is still in full swing throughout August. Sunday Night Concerts, Saturday Morning Yoga, and Thursday Sunset Cinema will continue for the next several weeks before movies wrap up near the end of the month. Yoga and live music will continue into September.

Looking ahead, our next signature event is the Winter Welcome Party and Mountain Bike Whip-Off on Saturday, September 26. It’s one of the highlights of the fall and a great way to celebrate the transition from bike season to ski season. Around the same time, we’ll also host our annual State of Solitude, where we’ll share updates on this summer’s mountain improvements, preview new snowmaking investments, and provide a look at what’s ahead for Winter 26/27. We’ll announce the final date soon.

We’re also excited about what’s coming this winter. Along with enhanced Solidaze rewards for Ikon Pass holders, we’re introducing additional value-focused offerings designed to make skiing and riding at Solitude more accessible for locals and visiting families.

Our target opening date for Winter 26/27 is November 20, conditions permitting. As always, we’ll open as soon as conditions allow.

Thank you to everyone who has visited Solitude this summer. It’s been one of our strongest summer seasons yet, and we’re grateful to everyone who has helped make it such a success. We look forward to finishing the season strong and welcoming everyone back this winter.
