The weather pattern has shifted — and it’s snowing at Solitude! Mother Nature is actively recharging our alpine trails. Additional storms are lined up for the weekend and coming week.

In addition to awesome alpine, Solitude has excellent Nordic and snowshoe opportunities. Visit the Solitude Nordic & Snowshoe Center — located just a few miles up canyon from Solitude at scenic Silver Lake — to explore 20 kilometers of Nordic and snowshoe trails. Trails are groomed daily and include wide open skate paths as well as grooved lanes for classic skiing. In addition to trail access, the center offers rentals, lessons, and a full schedule of events.

Nordic Center trails are open from 8:30 a.m. — 4:30 p.m. daily, with special hours for Nordic Nights on select Saturday evenings. Being one of the highest elevation Nordic centers in Utah, trails usually remain open well into April, keeping you gliding when most other areas have closed.

No matter your ability level, the Solitude Nordic & Snowshoe Center has you covered. Looking to learn or just cruise? Silver Lake trails have little to no grade and carry a green circle rating (just like beginner alpine trails). For more advanced skiers, blue square intermediate trails provide steeper pitches and promise a great workout as you explore the forest. Trails of both ratings are accessible from Silver Lake or Solitude Village.

Shuttles run regularly between the Moonbeam base area the Solitude Nordic & Snowshoe Center.
