Terrain and Weather
It’s the nature of the ski industry to have up and down points in the season. Temperatures are currently warmer than normal, and we are still waiting for the big storms to arrive.
That said, we are making snow at every opportunity and have great trails open for skiing and riding. Moonbeam Express, Apex Express, Link, and the Magic Carpet are spinning daily, providing access to seven trails and one terrain park. Because of early season conditions, most terrain is currently rated intermediate/advanced.
Our mountain ops team is now focused on Eagle, which we hope to open shortly after Christmas with a bit of help from Mother Nature.
The Solitude Nordic & Snowshoe Center is now open for the season with multiple trails. Explore the forest by candlelight on Saturday, December 27 during our first Nordic Nights of the season.
12 Days of Holiday Cheer
Holiday events are in full effect. Join us for festive fun every day of the week through Christmas. Here’s just a few of the things happening at Solitude over the next couple of weeks:
- The Grinch Movie Showing. Did you know that the winter scenes from The Grinch were shot at Solitude? Grab a seat at Moonbeam Lodge on Saturday, December 20 for a special 25th anniversary screening. Ride with the Grinch the next day.
- Christmas Eve Dinner at St. Bernard’s. Featuring a menu to suit every craving.
- Ride with Santa on Christmas Day.
New Year’s Eve Holiday Events
Our New Year’s Eve party lasts the entire day with a rail jam, avalanche dog demo, and special dining opportunities. Wrap up the year with our spectacular Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Show.
Early-Season Safety
Just a reminder to Know the Code and take extra precaution on the slopes during the busy holiday season. Please practice speed control and keep your eyes open for other skiers and riders. Pull out your skinny skis and make some turns!
Let it Snow
