Covid-19 Closure FAQ
These are unprecedented and challenging times for everyone in our mountain community, and we know everyone is feeling a lot of uncertainty. We will continue to do our best to provide you with information and updates as time goes on. Below are some answers to frequently asked questions we’re hearing and reading right now. Check back frequently and subscribe to our email list for the latest updates. We will continue to listen and make the best decisions we can for our guests and employees.
Will I be refunded for my Ikon Pass, Solitude season pass, or season parking pass?
We are working through new policies and protocols related to these products and will post new information as it becomes available.
Will I be refunded for my reservations of lodging, lift tickets, rentals, or lessons?
Solitude is offering 100% refunds on reservations for lodging, lift tickets, rentals, and lessons scheduled to take place between March 15 and April 19, 2020. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with your full itinerary and/or confirmation numbers to receive your refund.
Will I be compensated for my unused Ticket Paks or Share the Freedom tickets?
The dollar value of unused Ticket Paks and Share the Freedom tickets will be rolled over for use through the end of the 2020/21 season.
What if I have an unused Solitude gift certificate that will expire before the end of this season?
Once operations resume, bring your gift certificate to a Solitude ticket office for an adjustment to the expiration date.
How can I access my private locker? Will I receive a refund or credit for a future season?
Contact email@example.com to make arrangements regarding your seasonal private locker.
Can I travel uphill or tour to ski within Solitude’s boundaries during the closure?
Consistent with our standard policy, we are not allowing uphill travel inside Solitude’s operating area. This is due to the dangers posed by equipment on the hill as well as the avalanche hazard inherent to our unique terrain.
Can I park in Solitude’s parking lots during the closure?
Solitude, Brighton, Alta, Snowbird, and the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest are working together to assess risks of providing recreational access within and from permitted ski area boundary parking lots. Risks include mass gathering, adequate restroom facilities and associated cleaning standards, and potential impacts to law enforcement and first responders. The Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest is in support of ski areas implementing measures to mitigate the risks to human health and safety concerns.
When will Solitude reopen?
At this time, Solitude Mountain Resort is scheduled to open for the summer season on June 19, 2020. Please check back regularly for more information or sign up to receive our alerts or newsletters and be the first to know about any updates.
If you have questions that have not been answered here, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be responding to emails in the order in which they are received, and we thank you for your patience as we work through all scenarios. We look forward to welcoming you back to the mountains as circumstances improve.

After careful thought and deliberation of our duty in the face of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, and in what we believe is in the best interest of our guests, employees and local communities, Solitude Mountain Resort will suspend operations starting the morning of Sunday, March 15, until further notice. All lift operations, food and beverage, retail and rental services will be closed.
We will work directly with our guests in canceling their visit and will provide refunds to those who have hotel and other bookings during this closure period. We anticipate heavy call volume over the next several days and appreciate guests’ patience as we work hard to respond to all inquiries.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this short notice will undoubtedly create. We look forward to welcoming you back to the mountains as circumstances improve.

An Important Message to our Guests:
As the coronavirus and COVID-19 have become an evolving and uncertain public health issue affecting people globally and close to home, Solitude wants to reassure our guests that your health, safety, and well-being are of the utmost importance.
We are closely monitoring this situation and are in contact with state and local government and health officials. Solitude, along with our parent company, Alterra Mountain Company, is also closely monitoring Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization’s (WHO) guidance for responding to coronavirus.
The evolving nature of this event requires us to be flexible in how we respond and provide service to you. Here are some of the ways we are taking action:
- Additional hand sanitizing stations have been added and will continue to be added in high-traffic locations
- We have increased frequency of disinfection and cleaning of public restrooms and high-touch indoor areas such as bathrooms, dining locations, kitchen surfaces, door handles, tables, restaurants, bars, lesson and rental counters, and public computer workstations
- Employees who appear symptomatic have been asked to stay home
In order to be responsible operators and good stewards to this community, we have made the decision to cancel the following events: Spring Fling.
We will continue to evaluate on a daily basis, and this page will be updated with any further event updates.
Updated Change/Cancellation Policy
We understand the difficulty involved with making advance trip decisions during these uncertain times, and we want you to feel confident doing so. If you have an existing reservation, a refund or rebooking can be processed by sending a request to email@example.com.
